T’ai Chi Chuan
T’ai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese system of exercise and active meditation, rooted in Taoist philosophy that is over five thousand years old. Called the “Grand Dance for Health” and “A Moving Meditation,” T’ai Chi is studied for the development of sensitivity, increasing levels of awareness, strength and stamina, correct physical posture, alignment, balance, as well as control of the practitioner’s energy system. As a result of the concentration and practice of the subtle awareness required to master T’ai Chi Chuan and under the appropriate conditions of instruction and effort, students can ultimately have a direct conscious experience of the energy deficiencies and excesses existing in their own physical bodies. T’ai Chi Chuan helps the practitioner to develop relaxed strength, emotional balance and centeredness and postural alignment and is an excellent means for developing one’s health and vitality by achieving a full systemic energetic balance.

Qi Gong
Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gung) is an ancient Chinese system of physical training, philosophy and therapeutic health care. There are five major Qi Gong branches: Taoist, Buddhist, Confucian, martial arts and medical. Qi Gong as a martial art is considered a soft form like Tai Chi Chuan, the hard form being Kung Fu.

Qi Gong exercises have been known in China for millennia as a means of preventing disease and prolonging life. A regular regimen of daily practice will help build the vital force of the body which determines our state of health and well-being. Consistent practice will help to protect the practitioner from both acute disease and chronic degenerative conditions. Qi Gong can build and balance the immune system through balancing the bio-energy system. In Taoism, the ancient philosophy of China, it is said that “the mind moves the energy and the energy moves the body.” For centuries Qi Gong masters in China have been using their minds to control energy and their energy to improve health and prolong life.
